Sustainability & Community

Driving a Greener Future for Canada

From the moment Project Arrow was conceived, its mission has been clear: to redefine what it means to drive sustainably in Canada. More than just a groundbreaking electric vehicle, Project Arrow represents a commitment to environmental stewardship, technological innovation, and community empowerment. This page dives deep into the story behind our sustainability promise and the ways we’re building a stronger, cleaner future for Canadians.

Environmental Impact

Every element of Project Arrow has been carefully designed to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing performance. The production process prioritizes low-carbon manufacturing methods, with facilities powered in Battery Technology: The Heartbeat of the Arrow

At the heart of Project Arrow is a next-generation 82.5-kWh lithium-ion battery system, meticulously designed for exceptional range and unwavering reliability. Engineered to deliver up to 500 kilometres on a single charge, this battery is not just powerful, but resilient. It was built for Canada’s diverse and often extreme climate conditions, from the frigid -30°C winters of the prairies to the hot, humid summers here in Ontario. An advanced thermal management system ensures the battery operates at peak efficiency, preserving range and ensuring longevity no matter the weather. Understanding the need for convenience, the Arrow’s architecture supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 80% capacity in under 40 minutes, just enough time for a quick stop on a long journey.by renewable energy sources. The use of recyclable and eco-friendly materials from the interior fabrics to the battery components ensures that every Project Arrow vehicle leaves a smaller footprint on the planet.

Our engineers have gone beyond simply building an EV. They’ve developed systems that extend the lifespan of critical components, such as the battery, reducing the need for replacements and minimizing waste. The aerodynamic design further improves efficiency, allowing drivers to travel further on a single charge while consuming less energy overall.

Even the supply chain reflects our environmental commitment. By sourcing the majority of materials within Canada, we significantly reduce emissions from long-distance shipping while supporting the domestic economy.

Research & Development: A Blueprint for Collaboration

Project Arrow’s research and development process is a landmark achievement in Canadian collaboration. Spearheaded by the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA), the project brought together over 58 partners, from agile tech startups to established industry leaders. At the centre of the physical build is Ontario Tech University’s world-renowned Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE), located right here in Oshawa.

The process began long before any metal was cut. Using advanced computer simulations, the team created a “digital twin” of the vehicle to test and refine thousands of variables in a virtual environment. This AI-driven performance analytics approach ensured the design was optimized before prototyping even began. Once the design was locked, physical testing at the ACE facility pushed the vehicle to its limits. In the climatic wind tunnel, the Arrow faced everything from hurricane-force winds to simulated blizzards, allowing engineers to perfect its aerodynamics and ensure its stability and performance meet and exceed global EV standards.

Canadian Supply Chain

Project Arrow is a true celebration of Canadian industry and ingenuity. Every major component, from the battery cells to the chassis and advanced software, is sourced or manufactured within the country, creating high-quality jobs and supporting skilled trades across multiple provinces. This approach not only strengthens local economies but also insulates our production from global supply chain volatility, ensuring stability and reliability.

We are working with Canada’s most innovative technology partners to integrate innovations that push the boundaries of what’s possible in EV design. From advanced battery systems engineered right here in Canada for our unique climate to cutting-edge safety features and AI-driven software developed by local research institutions and tech firms, Project Arrow showcases the best of what our nation can offer the world. By keeping production and sourcing local, we foster a tightly integrated ecosystem that allows for seamless collaboration between design, engineering, and manufacturing teams. This maintains strict quality control and ensures that the environmental and economic benefits of our vehicles extend to every stage of the process.

Community Initiatives

Sustainability isn’t just about reducing emissions; it’s about fostering a culture of responsibility, education, and awareness. Project Arrow actively collaborates with schools, universities, and non-profit organizations to inspire the next generation of innovators. Through hands-on educational programs, co-op placements for students, and technical workshops, we share knowledge about EV technology, renewable energy, and the crucial role of sustainable transportation in combating climate change. We are not just building a car; we are helping to build the skilled workforce that Canada’s green economy will need to thrive.

We also participate in community events and initiatives aimed at promoting green living, from local clean-up projects to EV awareness drives and public test-drive events. Our partnerships with environmental advocacy groups ensure that we’re not just building cars, but contributing to a national movement toward a cleaner, healthier Canada for all.
